- 1 kg of cherries
- 800 gr. sugar
- 1 cup water
- ½ lemon (juice)
To make the sweet cherry, wash the cherries and remove stems and seeds with a hairpin.
In a saucepan boil the sugar with a glass of water for five to ten minutes.
Add the cherries and boil for ten minutes as well.
Remove the pan from the heat and skim the sweet.
Boil the sweet for another ten minutes, remove from the heat and strain it.
The syrup boil again now and adding the juice of half a lemon and leave to set.
When the syrup thickens add the cherries to the pan and cook it for about five minutes.
Transfer the pan from the heat and leave it for a day.
The next day place it in a glass jar and you are ready to serve your sweet cherry.
